        Dream Seeker Dead? 01/21/2012

So, it's come to our attention that the Velvet Mask short story collection was confusing to some of our readers.  We have gone ahead and corrected that, clarifying that these are short stories that are loosely connected, and making the division between sections clearer.  Also, on Kindle, we have offered each section separately, so people can read the stories they want to read, and skip the characters they are not interested in.

Anyway, never fear.  The Dream Seeker is still alive.  We just took some constructive criticism to heart, and made some adjustments.

Limited time only: Special Price on Kindle Dream Seeker Books 01/07/2012

Hey, just wanted to give you the heads up: we are now selling our Dream Seeker books at a new low price at Amazon for the Kindle.  Click here to see our offerings and the price.

And now for an update on the RoJ2012 project: I dictated a couple of more chapters this week.  I'd say I'm about halfway or 2/3 of the way through the book, depending on whether I include some Soul Patrol chapters I wrote.  As of now, I think I will offer those chapters separately, but you never know.  Adding those chapters to the overall story would add an interesting subplot which relates to the whole story.

I'm not sure if I'm going to make the Amazon contest deadline, but that's okay.  Damian and I are looking forward to getting RoJ2012 in people's hands this year!

        New Year's Update: RoJ2012 01/01/2012

Just wanted to give our readers a quick update on the progress of RoJ2012.  I was doing this over at our old DSU blog over at DailySkew, but have decided it makes more sense to update you here.   I finished dictating a couple more chapters this week.  I plan on doing a lot of dictation tomorrow, as I have a two-hour drive in the morning, and another two hours back.

My current plan is to finish the dictation, and then start transcribing.  I want to treat this like an assembly line -- finish one part first, then move on to the next part.

My writing process may seem strange, but try to understand that I am dealing with serious time constraints.  I use the dictation method to get as much done as possible.

The transcribing is going to be the most time consuming part of writing this novel.  I have estimated that it will take 3 times as long to type what I spoke.  Right now, I have over two hours of dictated chapters that need transcribing; so that's close to 7 hours right there, not including what I have yet to dicate.

I am aiming to submit the book to Amazon for a Kindle contest at at the end of January.  So, I'm going to put on the full-court press to get it done.

One of the two chapters I dictated this week deals directly with imagery from the Book of Revelation, like the breaking of seals on the scrolls, the celestial court, angels, and more.  It's an awesome modern retelling, in a Dream Seeker context.

The second chapter I dictated is about Dace Senoit struggling with faith in his mission.  He has what I call an "Ion moment" in this chapter.  Fans of Green Lantern might understand the obscure reference.

These two chapters are pivotal to the book.  I reviewed the concepts before doing the dictation, and I'm looking forward to transcribing it.  I edit as I transcribe, so there's sure to be additional details that I glossed over the first time around.  These chapters are going to leave you wanting more, that's for sure.

Anyway, I hope everyone had a great New Year celebration.  2012 is finally here!  I'm looking forward to what the New Year will bring.

        Parabola 12/23/2011

When you hear the word Parabola, you're first thought is probably math-related.  If you listen closely to the word, however, you'll notice that it sounds an awful lot like Parable.  As a matter of fact, the words are related.

Dream Seeker: Parabola is now on sale via ebook for Kindle and Nook.  If you prefer a print edition, one can be found at Lulu.

I chose the word Parabola for the title because the storylines are like points in time moving in a curve, revolving around our main character, the Dream Seeker.  The stories, like math, are individually deep and complex, and yet merge to form a beautiful shape.  Also, some of the stories can be treated like modern-day parables, offering wisdom in this chaotic age we live in.

I highly recommend you read Dream Seeker: Parabola, our third installment in the Dream Seeker series of novels.  You'll be contemplating the stories within for a long time to come.  I hope you give it a try
